Socializing: Behind the Scenes
Members and potential members of the Capital Area United Way Women’s Leadership Council gathered for networking and a chance to sign up for volunteer opportunities at Thursday’s lunch time “Spring Into Action” event.
“I love seeing women getting involved in leadership roles and raising money,” said Joan Cronan, Women’s Athletic Director, Emeritus-University of Tennessee and featured speaker of the event. “I love United Way and I think it is the best way to give the most to the right people.” The spring themed event offered an opportunity for attendees to learn about the impact WLC is making in the lives of women in the community and encourage volunteerism at United Way’s upcoming Day of Action. The successful event was hosted by the WLC committee and sponsored by BASF-The Chemical Company.
Also speaking at the event were Ruthie Golden – Realtor and Co-Owner, ProSold Realty; Nikki Caldwell – Head Coach, LSU Women’s Basketball; Darrin Goss – President/CEO, Capital Area United Way; Susan McCarter – Vice President/Branch Manager, IBERIABank.
The CAUW Women’s Leadership Council has taken on mentoring young women as part of their mission to helping in the areas of education, income and health. For more information on the Women’s Leadership Council or to join, contact Capital Area United Way at [email protected] or 225.383.2643.
