By now, you've probably heard that we're conducting a readership survey, but if you're on the fence about taking it or not sure what it's all about, then this blog is for you. If you weren't aware about the survey, then go to www.survey.lsu.edu/citysocial.
Time is valuable, and there's only a finite amount of it. So when you receive an invitation to take a survey, one of the questions you may ask yourself is why should I take the time to take a survey? What will City Social do with my opinion?
The survey is a key instrument in finding out more about our audience, and we don't mean solely demographics either. By knowing your opinions on things such as whether you prefer to stick to tradition or try something new, we can start including stories that fit those interests. If you're into the arts, then we'll add more arts-related events in the calendar and stories in the editorial.
But aren't surveys primarily multiple choice? What if my interest isn't listed there?
There's an open-ended question entitled "What would you like to see more of in City Social?" Here, you can put exactly what you want in your own words to ensure that we receive all opinions and interests, especially those not listed in the multiple choice sections.
People change, and City Social recognizes that. This survey is part of an effort to make sure that the magazine stays relevant to you.
What can I expect when I click on the survey link?
You may have noticed that URL is an LSU website. This is because we have partnered with LSU Research Lab to bring you this survey. From the LSU site, click "Take The Survey" and you will be directed to our survey. You do not have to answer all the questions on the page to move on to the next one, but to ensure that you get the most of out the survey; it is highly recommended that you answer each question. All answers are completely confidential.
In addition to giving each individual survey careful consideration, we are also holding a drawing for a $500 Shopper's Choice gift card to show our appreciation for taking time out of your busy schedule to submit your opinions to us.
